Drying Out…

Along with tobacco, alcohol probably qualifies as the most controversial product which can be legally consumed. It is often said, if alcohol was invented today, it would be banned and explains why it is permissible only with restrictions by age, amounts and activities like driving a car, operating machinery…

But for all these restrictions and penalties, alcohol remains a grave problem, responsible for legions of deaths and injuries. It is central to our modern culture and as such it adversely afflicts many lives. Over my career, I have known many comics who have died or been rendered unfunny and unbookable because of their familiarity with booze.

And I am not immune either. I too have struggled with alcohol. Although as drink problems go, mine is the least dangerous.

My problem with alcohol is that I am unable to drink properly.

I get drunk too quickly.
