Many of you will know that I have long supported the Anthony Nolan Charity – the largest register of bone marrow tissue in the UK – a vital chance of life for people with blood cancer.
I wrote my novel Open Links for the charity with all proceeds to their life saving work.
Tom became involved with a view to encouraging young people to register their tissue. They need young people and particularly BAME males.
Anyway, one of Tom’s old school mates has just been tissue matched and so all being well, he will give the chance of life to someone he has never met.
I hope I can post in the weeks/months/years ahead that the clever people in white coats have been able to do their thing and someone has kicked cancer in to touch.
Thank God for clever people eh?
