The frustrations of being an author…

“I use Grammarly for proofreading because a semi colon or a colon? Come on, who knows, really?”

A Man’s Life is a book that took me seven years to write and a book that I bloody well agonised over. Reviewers have commonly said that the book has made them cry both with grief and with laughter  which is a good thing and an objective achieved. But let me say, that I cried writing the bloody thing too – and even more so now when after recruiting the services of a professional copy editor, I receive notices like the one below.

This review is from: A Man’s Life (Kindle Edition)

This gripping book was ruined for me by the lack of proof reading. There are so many grammatical and spelling errors that I have to give it only 3 stars.

So let me admit here now – despite my best efforts, there are typos in my book. I have been through it many times and yet that they remain - but I hope that this warning or admission might placate future readers, not deter readers and that they can enjoy my book and my story.
And to any prospective readers – if they fancy the challenge of noting these offending and persistent errors – I would be very grateful to anyone who can keep a note of them and let me know on this site or by email.
