On a film set today courtesy of a Holland boy – but not Tom this time. Harry is directing a trailer for a prospective TV series. A crew of 25 including Sean on sound who worked on The Impossible and Ben Perkins, Tom’s acting coach from The Impossible. Paddy is acting. Nikki is on stills photography and I am generally being available for anything that needs doing.
Excited (and concerned) to announce that my run in Edinburgh is confirmed – The Voodoo Rooms Ballroom – 4.40pm on the Free Fringe – Aug 5 – 27th
The advice to kids is generally to follow your passion. Try and do for a living what you enjoy…
That said, when dental hygienists were children, do you think they enjoyed brushing their teeth?
Spring is the best season of the year. The season with it all to look forward to? Sleepy plants budding and bursting in to life and all set to the greatest soundtrack on earth courtesy of our birdlife with their tweets and twerps.
Thou shalt not kill – unless in the exceptional circumstances that a parent has made a meal for their kids – who are upstairs and happen to be wearing their f******* headphones.
A fine is levied if an able bodied person parks in a disabled bay – but as yet, an able bodied person using a disabled toilet risks only a scowl – which in my opinion is well worth the risk. It’s the extra space for one thing but also because in my experience it seems that handicapped people are just much cleaner than the able bodied.
Today I have bought myself a new black and white printer. This might appear to be a backwards step but to me if feels like progress because I will never be plagued again by the idea of running low on magenta or cyan.
One little victory at a time…
Driving is stressful. We know this but I argue that the radio adds to this stress.
Sharing a car as we do in the Holland family means that I am pretty much in a bad mood the moment I start the ignition and I need to have my finger poised to turn off the radio incase I hear too much of Radio 1 FM. The music mostly hurts but not as much as the faux voices of the ‘so cool dude’ presenters.
One of the problems with writing a non-fiction book is that very quickly it becomes out of date. Such is the case with Eclipsed after last nights Empire Awards in London. Tom was nominated in the category – Best Newcomer – which oddly he has already won and three years ago!
I have been approached to be a life model and I am unclear whether or not this is a good thing. The person who asked me is someone who I know (vaguely). They were quick to explain that I would get paid. £25 for two hours no less. ‘No less’ is not an expression I am comfortable with when it comes to me being a life model. I might not be on telly anymore but there is exposure and there is desperation – and so I’ve told them that I’ll think about it.
