Happy news to report…
Joel Kioko arrives in London today to start training at English National Ballet School.
Wait. Who? Ballet? So what?
But read on, it’s well worth it…
Hardly a revelation to state how fleeting life is – and at times, how it can catch us out…
Unable to face the drive, yesterday I took a train from London to Manchester for a weekend of shows at The Comedy Store. It was a wise decision because something happened. Or more accurately, something recurred and stopped me in my tracks (not literally. The train didn’t stop.)
I am happy to report that following the private screening on HOMECOMING with Tom and his brothers, we are slowly getting through the hoops of establishing a charity and last week THE BROTHERS TRUST was able to make its second charitable grant – the first being LUNCHBOWL and this time to MOMENTUM.
Playing golf this week with a few guys, one of whom I knew well, the other two more acquaintances.
One of whom explains that he is out of the workplace and the circles I seem to mix in – I assume immediately that he’s sold some business or other and just doesn’t need to work anymore. Nice one mate, you lucky bastard.
Tired after a late gig and pondering my set tonight at The Comedy Store, my phone rings. It’s a Canadian number, so I know that it is either my eldest son, Tom – currently making a movie in Canada, or my second son, Harry, accompanying Tom and helping out with the camera dept on said film.
Readers of Eclipsed will know about my appearance in July on ‘Celebrity The Chase’ and the secrets that I reveal in the book pertaining to this show. As things turned out, it was an unnecessary revelation but one I am happy to leave out there anyway.
Back from Edinburgh and after a brief bout of post-festival head cold (exhaustion) this morning at home and it seems that things are back to normal. Our hall is full of boxes with a further delivery of copies of Eclipsed plus a new batch of jiffy envelopes.
Regular readers of this blog will know that Tom and I support Anthony Nolan, a charity that matches donors tissue with people with blood cancer.
Edinburgh 2017 is about to close and I will write a more fulsome account of what has been a remarkable experience for me and team Holland.
